Classification Of Shrink Wrap
Shrink wrap is a type of packaging material that is used to wrap products and create a tight and protective covering. Shrink wrap can be classified based on different criteria, including the material, the method of application, and the purpose. Here are some common classifications of shrink wrap:
1、Material: Shrink wrap can be made from different types of materials, including PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PE (polyethylene), PP (polypropylene), and PLA (polylactic acid). Each material has different properties and is suited for different types of applications.
2、Method of application: Shrink wrap can be applied to products using different methods, including heat guns, heat tunnels, and chamber machines. Heat guns are typically used for small-scale applications, while heat tunnels and chamber machines are used for larger-scale operations.
3、Purpose: Shrink wrap can be classified based on the purpose of the packaging. For example, shrink wrap can be used for primary packaging (direct contact with the product), secondary packaging (outer wrapping around primary packaging), or tertiary packaging (pallet wrapping for transportation and storage).
4、Shrinkage rate: Shrink wrap can also be classified based on the shrinkage rate, which refers to the percentage of shrinkage that occurs during the shrinking process. Different shrink wrap materials have different shrinkage rates, which can affect the final appearance and fit of the package.
5、Perforated or non-perforated: Shrink wrap can be perforated or non-perforated. Perforated shrink wrap has small holes that allow for air to escape during the shrinking process, which can help to prevent damage or distortion of the packaged product.

The Principle Of Shrink Wrap
The principle of shrink wrap is based on the ability of certain plastic materials to shrink when heat is applied to them. Shrink wrap is made from a thermoplastic material, which means that it becomes soft and pliable when heated, and then hardens and solidifies as it cools. The process of shrinking the plastic film involves three stages:
1、Heat application: The first stage of the process is to apply heat to the shrink wrap using a heat gun, heat tunnel, or other heating device. The heat causes the plastic to soften and become malleable, allowing it to conform to the shape of the product being wrapped.
2、Conformity: Once the plastic has been heated, it is wrapped around the product and tightened to fit snugly. As the plastic cools, it begins to solidify and retain the shape of the product, creating a tight and secure package.
3、Cooling: After the plastic has cooled, it becomes stiff and rigid, holding the product securely in place. The final package is strong, durable, and tamper-resistant, protecting the product during transportation, storage, and display.
The shrinking process can be affected by various factors, including the type of plastic film used, the shrinkage rate, the heat source, and the wrapping method.

Shrink Wrap Material
Shrink wrap is made from a variety of thermoplastic materials that can shrink and conform to the shape of a product when heat is applied. Here are some common types of shrink wrap materials:
1、Polyethylene (PE): PE shrink wrap is a popular and affordable option for wrapping products. It is available in different thicknesses and can be used for a wide range of applications.
2、Polypropylene (PP): PP shrink wrap is known for its high clarity and excellent printability, making it a popular choice for packaging products that require custom branding or graphics.
3、Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): PVC shrink wrap is a durable and versatile material that is commonly used for packaging food and beverage products. It is available in different thicknesses and offers excellent clarity and a high shrinkage rate.
4、Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET): PET shrink wrap is a high-performance material that offers excellent clarity, printability, and barrier properties against oxygen and moisture. It is commonly used for packaging products such as cosmetics, electronics, and food.
5、Polylactic Acid (PLA): PLA shrink wrap is a biodegradable and eco-friendly option that is made from renewable resources such as corn starch. It offers good clarity and is suitable for packaging products that require a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution.
